Christmas with Hunkydory by Anne-Marie Catterall

Hi, it’s Anne-Marie here from Hunkydory Crafts! On Monday, 12th June we launched our amazing Christmas Blockbuster on Create & Craft. I was so excited about it so thought that I would fill you in on the big launch and share a few projects using the collection, too.

I arrived at the Create & Craft studios a few hours before the launch and got to work laying out all the finished samples on the set. We had so many I couldn’t fit them all out! Because the Blockbuster is split into 4 collections, we split the pack shot (a technical term for the display of the product!) into 4 and just filled it with finished samples. It looked amazing.

Myself, Dan and the producer, Andrew, talked through the format of the show and how many demos I would be doing – I planned for 8 across the 2 hours, but it was impossible! Before I knew it, we were going live. The 2 hours flew by and I can’t believe how busy it was.

So many people had emailed in saying how much they loved this Blockbuster – I can’t wait to see everyone’s makes. Our Hunkydory Christmas Blockbuster has 40 topper sets within it and a FREE Crafting with Hunkydory Christmas Edition Magazine, so you have loads of inspiration and ideas straight away. I love that you can make simple quick makes – especially if you leave your Christmas crafting until the last minute like I always do!

So just to give you a little more inspiration for quick cards, I have created a step-by-step project for each of the collections within the Hunkydory Christmas Blockbuster.

A Cuddly Christmas

You Will Need:

Method:

  1. Trim the mirri card to fit the front of the A5 card blank. Matt and layer the Penguin Cuddles foiled cardstock onto the mirri, leaving a narrow border all the way around.
  2. Using the large green frame, stick the snowfall acetate to the reverse and trim it to the fit the oval.
  3. Place the inner topper onto your card blank and place the frame over it. Add your sentiment and make a bow to embellish.
  4. Cut the insert down and place inside your finished card.

A Christmas Past

You Will Need:

Method:

  1. Using the O Come Let Us Adore Him foiled cardstock, trim it to 28cm long.
  2. With the cardstock portrait, mark 3cm in from each side at the top and the bottom. Join the marks up with a pencil line so you have 2 panels either side.
  3. With the cardstock now landscape, score up to each of the pencil lines at 3cm, 6cm, 10cm and 28cm. Score at 14cm all the way through.
  4. Using a ruler and a craft knife, cut along the pencil lines from the first score line to the last.
  5. Fold the card in half and then concertina each of the sides to create the steps.
  6. Taking the frame from the topper sheet, stick the double-sided adhesive sheet to the reverse and trim to fit the frame.
  7. Sprinkle the Glistening Gold Diamond Sparkles onto the sheet and spread it out over the adhesive until it is fully covered.
  8. Stick the topper into the centre of the frame using foam pads. Attach this now onto the central section of your card blank and add you chosen sentiment.

Seasonal Style

You Will Need:

Method:

  1. Cover the front of the card blank with the gold mirri card and matt and layer the Oh Bring Us a Figgy Pudding foiled cardstock onto this, leaving a narrow border.
  2. Use the frame from the top of the topper sheet and the topper from the bottom of the sheet and stick them onto the card using foam pads.
  3. Add the tag at a jaunty angle and the sentiment in the top left corner. Make a bow using the ribbon and embellish the tag.
  4. Finish by trimming the insert down to 7 ¾” x 7 ¾” and sticking it to the inside of the card.

White Christmas

You Will Need:

Method:

  1. Matt and layer the silver mirri card onto the card blank. Trim the Let It Snow foiled cardstock to 7-7/8” x 7-7/8” and add to the card, leaving a narrow border.
  2. Place the oval frame onto the card blank and use a pencil to draw around the inside of the frame. Remove the frame and use a craft knife to cut the oval aperture out of the card blank.
  3. Stick snowfall acetate onto the reverse of the frame and trim to fit. Attach the frame to the card around the aperture and add your chosen sentiment to the top right.
  4. Trim the insert down to 7 ¾” x 7 ¾” and stick it to the inside of the card. Finish by sticking the topper inside the card so that you can see it through the aperture.
