Create and Craft has won TV Channel of the Year in this year’s Freesat Awards, after being voted the best by the public.
The announcement was made this week as the cream of British broadcasting gathered for the annual awards night in Soho, London
The very best in channels and services available on the subscription-free satellite TV service were recognised at the ceremony – which is now in its third year.
Emma Scott, Freesat Managing Director said: “Our awards have been a wonderful celebration of the diverse, high quality programming that keeps our audience entertained and informed. I’d like to congratulate the winners as we look forward to bringing viewers even more exciting channels and services in the future.”
Tony Sheridan, Commercial Director of Ideal Shopping Direct, the parent company of Create and Craft, said: “We are delighted to win the Freesat TV Viewers’ Channel of the Year Award for the second year in a row; last year Ideal World scooped the award and this year the unique crafting channel Create and Craft triumphed. We see the award as all the more significant because it is voted for by viewers; the most important people to our industry.
“It is fantastic that Create and Craft has been recognised for consistently delivering excellent programming and products and bringing our viewers the very latest innovations via our unique multi-channel approach, with hard-working and diligent teams both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. We will continue to expand our product offering to include knitting, sewing, art, products for children and niche specialist crafts, such as jewellery-making and quilting. We also have extensive development plans across all of our channels this year to ensure our customers enjoy an even better viewing and shopping experience”
