How to Make Monster Desserts
Need a quick and tasty dessert to whip up for your little monsters? If you’re throwing a Halloween party for the kids this year and need inventive treats to serve, look no further. These googly-eyed monster desserts require only a few ingredients, and taste absolutely glorious. Featuring layers of pudding, cookies and marshmallows, they’re so fun to put together – get the kids involved too!
- White Marshmallows
- Chocolate Writing Icing or Brown Writing Icing
- 1 Packet of Chocolate Cookies
- Orange Food Colouring or Gel
- 1 Packet of Vanilla Angel Delight Instant Dessert
- Plastic Food Bag
- Rolling Pin
- Tumblers or Clear Glass Bowls
- Mixing Bowl
METHOD: Spooky Monster Eyeball Desserts
- First, find some transparent glass serving bowls or tumblers so that you can see the layered dessert through the glass, and then set them aside.
- Make the vanilla Angel Delight pudding by following the instructions on the back of the packet. Once you’ve whisked this up, add a few drops of orange food colouring or gel until you have a bright orange cream. Leave to set slightly in the fridge for between 10 and 15 minutes.
- While your dessert is chilling, take a packet of chocolate cookies, empty it into a plastic food bag, and beat with a rolling pin. It’s up to you how smashed you want your cookies – you can have chunkier pieces or crumbs. Set aside in a small mixing bowl.
- Retrieve your pudding and start to assemble your monster desserts. Spoon the orange pudding into the bottom of your serving bowls and smooth it over. Next, spoon in the crushed biscuits to about half way full, and then fill the rest up with the Angel Delight.
- Create two eyeballs for each pudding by placing two marshmallows on top of the orange pudding layer, and then carefully squeezing chocolate or brown writing icing on them for pupils. There you have it – an instant, sweet (but spooky!) dessert for your little terrors.
