Serging for Softies is designed for all sewing aficionados from the very beginner to the more experienced artist. The content is intended to build confidence, create enthusiasm and develop understanding in the use of the serger or overlocker. A wide variety of very easy projects are offered from Quags to Tucked Totes, with a bit of Weaving for Wussies thrown in for good measure.
The projects are simple and suitable for any model of overlocker from the basic three-thread to the top of the range cover stitch machine, and the text is lighhearted with stories and anecdotes to entertain.
If you don't have an overlocker, the projects can also be made on a sewing machine although they are not quite as effective in covering a raw edge and are not as fast as an overlocker.
This fab book is written by Jennie Rayment, who was inspired by these designs whilst on her travels, and has written a number of easy to follow instructions for twiddling tucks, twisted origami, spinning triangles and much more.
