Take your home décor to another level! This project shows you how to make a gorgeous glass plate using rice paper, crackle paste, primer and paints. Use your imagination and create truly wonderful works of art!

You Will Need:

  • Glass Project Kit
  • Heat Tool
  • Brush
  • Palette Knife

Instructions:

  1. First of all, make sure your glass plate is clean and always work on the reverse.

  2. Choose your favorite rice paper elements and tear out, don’t cut with scissors as you want a ‘feathered’ edge. Try not to cover the entire plate as you want to see the crackle effect and the paint colours come through.

  3. Apply the rice paper to the reverse of the plate using the Decoupage Medium Ceramic and dry using a heat tool. Be careful not to apply too much heat in one place.

  4. Apply a thin layer of the Crackle Primer with a brush all over or in areas depending on the look you would like to achieve. Remember, you are working on the reverse of the glass plate.

  5. Now apply the Crackle Paste with a palette knife on the reverse. The thicker the application the bigger the cracks will be. Allow the paste to dry naturally.

  6. Apply the frost effect paints to fill in the gaps where the crackle paste has cracked and allow to dry.
  7. Now you can either paint the back of the plate or cover with felt of your choice.
