Bendy Box Card

Join together a shadow box base card with a curved front section and you can have a bendy box card. They are perfect for creating three dimensional scenes with these cute stamps and dies from Time For Tea or what you have available in your crafty stash. They can also be folded flat to fit into an envelope so you they are ideal for posting.

You will need:

  • Time For Tea ‘Swimming By To Say Hi’ Stamps and Dies Collection
  • Time For Tea ‘Best Fishes’ Border and Banner Die Set
  • White card
  • Coloured paper or card
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Black dye ink pad
  • Clear embossing ink pad
  • Marker pens
  • White embossing powder
  • Acetate
  • Silver gems
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife
  • Double sided tape

Time to Make: 1 Hour

Instructions:

  1. Embroidered T-Shirt Create a 10.5 x 15cm top-folding white base card then cut another piece of white card the same size. Trim another two pieces of white card 4 x 15cm, one piece 4 x 14cm and one piece 6 x 14cm.
  2. Embroidered T-Shirt Die-cut a frame from the largest piece of card and cut a piece of blue paper or card the same size. Take the two smallest pieces of card and score down at 1cm, 2cm and 3cm. Run double-sided tape down each side.
  3. Embroidered T-Shirt Score a 1.5cm flap one end on the other two pieces of card then run double-sided tape down it. Cut a tab in the other ends then cover the card pieces with paper or coloured card.
  4. Embroidered T-Shirt Concertina the two scored pieces of card then attach down each side of the card front. Stamp bubbles over the blue paper with a clear embossing ink pad then emboss with white powder. Adhere the paper to the card front then add silver gems.
  5. Embroidered T-Shirt Attach the frame to the folded sides of the card front to create a box. Attach the two covered pieces of card either side as shown to create the curved front.
  6. Embroidered T-Shirt Stamp a mermaid, fish, waves, plants and shells on white card with a black die-ink pad then colour with marker pens. Die-cut each stamped image using the coordinating dies.
  7. Embroidered T-Shirt Attach a thin strip of acetate to the back of the mermaid then adhere behind the top of the frame. Attach a fish to the frame with foam pads. Decorate the largest front panel with waves and shells then cut a slit on the right-hand side of the frame to push the tab into.
  8. Embroidered T-Shirt Stamp and die-cut the sentiment then adhere as shown to the side and the front panel. Attach plants and shells across the front then cut a slit on the left-hand side to place the other tab into.
