About Charlie Mumford

I am 29 years old, with a lifelong love of making things. I first started crafting at a young age with my mum, who made clothes and toys for me, and sometimes with my grandma, who was a dressmaker by trade and a passionate quilter.

Coming from a creative family with a dad who was an avid photographer and an aunt who was an artist, it was inevitable that I would go down this route! I did GCSE textiles at school, which really launched me into making on a bigger scale, and I started making my own cosplay costumes for movie conventions, as I couldn't afford the real deal items.

It was then, (about 8 years ago) that I found Create and Craft, and discovered all sorts of other crafts! It introduced me to papercraft and also allowed me to mix my mediums so that now I can do all sorts! My love of movies, sci-fi and most things ‘geeky’ follows my crafting, especially my love of Harry Potter and Star Wars!

And I have a special place in my heart for crochet, which lovely friends at my day job taught me almost 3 years ago. It's thanks to them and my family that I am now confident enough to start pursuing a career doing what I love!
