Tea and chat with Dean Wilson

We grabbed a quick cuppa with the bubbly presenter to chat about all things crafting!

“The Create and Craft team are amazing; we go above and beyond to make the TV viewing experience as much fun as possible”

I've had so much fun during the last year at Create and Craft. There's been a lot of product reveals and I've had the opportunity to showcase the Disney brand to our viewers. I've also had a great time chatting with crafters across our social media platforms. I've especially enjoyed my series on Facebook with Laura from our social media team – I've pinched a few products, too!
The Create and Craft team are amazing; we go above and beyond to make the TV viewing experience as much fun as possible. I think that 2017 will go down as my best year yet on-air – I still chuckle about the time I tore my trousers!

What are your favourite Create and Craft products?

I've revealed hundreds of products since Christmas, so it's incredibly hard to choose a favourite. I have to admit though that I've really got into the sewing shows recently as it's a huge market. I believe that all households should have a sewing machine.

Any exciting things planned for 2018?

2018 has been amazing so far. Create and Craft has featured more than 200 new products and I've had the best time revealing them to our viewers. As for the future, I'm not quite sure what programmes I've got coming up, but I would love to see more kids get involved with our crafting shows. I have a five-year-old and I can really see the benefits of what making things does for his confidence. I love travelling around the country for the Crafting Live road show and I'm looking forward to getting back on the road again once I'm back from my family holiday. .

Pitch your ideal television programme...

It would definitely be a crafting game show. I'd have crafters as contestants and celebrities as their team mates. I would co-host it with a celebrity crafter – it would be a thrilling Generation Game for crafters.

What's your idea of the perfect weekend getaway?

A weekend away with my family in the forest with lots of food, games and a hot tub. I'd have to fit in a cheeky game of golf, too!
