11 Fun Crafts to Decorate a Child’s Bedroom

1. Planet Models

If you’ve got any budding astronauts or little tykes who love their science lessons, then our clay planet project tutorial is just the ticket. You’ll love getting creative and messy together, and it’s a great opportunity to learn about our solar system and work on developing their fine motor skills too.

2. Moon Phase Wall Hanging

Like the planets, our moon wall hanging project tutorial is great for teaching little ones about space and the phases of the moon, all while having lots of crafty fun making it. It also makes an eye-catching decoration that looks great in any colour scheme, thanks to its muted hues.

3. Butterfly Trail

How lovely would a trail of butterflies flying from one side of the room to another look? They’re easy to make, too – simply pick up a die like the Precious Crafts Butterfly Die Set (500235), batch cut a few from colourful card, fold in the wings and carefully stick their middle to the wall.

4. Hot Air Balloon

This precious hot air balloon project tutorial by Carla Bagshaw is sure to lift everyone’s mood and add a fun spot of colour to your little one’s room. You can customise it to suit the rest of the décor too, by switching up the colours and adding pretty embellishments like ribbon, gems and glitter.

5. Rainbow Hanger

There’s nothing better for rainy days than a rainbow, and this sweet rainbow hanger by Carla Bagshaw will definitely chase away any gloom. Craft yours with a colourful pack of ribbons, or raid your craft stash for those pretty strips of fabric that you couldn’t bear to part with.

6. Rain Cloud

While rainy days can be disappointing, this sweet dec is anything but with its shiny raindrops and adorable umbrella. Have a look at our project tutorial here and try making your own with some Tattered Lace Silver Mirri A4 Card (573110). There are snow, lightning and sunny clouds too, for teaching little ones about the weather.

7. Hanging Bubbles

This charming hanging decoration is perfect for an underwater theme, since it looks like bubbles rising to the surface. Simply pick up a pack of clear plastic balls, or opaque ones like our Pinflair Plastic Balls (484567) and paint in a range of vibrant colours using acrylics.

Continuing the underwater theme are these adorable fish. You could even make the fish head, fins and tail from glitter or metallic card for the shiny fish scales.
