Exclusive Project

For the Love of Tea card by Ann-marie Vaux

If pretty and pastels are your crafty weakness, then you will be in crafty heaven with not only this project, but the whole Fabscraps range. I have created this project to show that you can use a few of the items you have in your stash already with the Creative Card Kit to create a beautiful project that will be truly appreciated and treasured.

You will need:

  • Fabscraps Quick Creative Card Kit For the Love of Tea
  • 5.75 x 5.75 inch blank white card base
  • Pearls
  • Lace ribbon
  • White ink for embossing
  • White heat embossing powder
  • Heat gun
  • Ribbons, flowers, gems
  • Silicone glue & wet glue
  • Tape Runner or Adhesive flat tape
  • 3D foam
  • Scissors
  • Pokey Tool or Knitting needle or similar

Time to Make: Approx 30mins to 1hr

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

  1. The kit includes some plain cardstock, pick a colour to attach to the blank card base, cover the base completely with it using either a tape runner or flat tape.
  2. Pick lace ribbon from your stash and attach to the card edges using either red tape or wet glue.
  3. Cut a piece of the patterned paper included in the Fabscraps kit to fit the centre of the card, so it just covers over the attached edge of the lace.
  4. Attach the centre paper and trim away any excess from the edges of both the paper and the lace.
  5. Included in the kit are Beer Board embellishments, these are similar to chipboard, and cut easily. Cut away the Just for You sentiment leaving a border round the wording, and then cut away a cup of tea as well.
  6. Using the white ink (or a colour of your choice), ink the Just for You sentiment all over one side
  7. Add the white embossing powder to the Just for You sentiment
  8. Using your Heat Gun, heat the embossing powder to turn it.
  9. Ink the cup of tea in co-ordinating colours to match the paper you have used.
  10. Take a strand of pearls from the Pearl of a Kit, and add along the edge of the centre paper.
  11. Repeat the process for the paper at the other side and trim the excess away.
  12. Pick a sentiment from the embellishments included in the kit, and attach it to your card front, using 3D foam.
  13. Next using wet glue attach the Beer Board cup of tea on to the sentiment.
  14. Cut 4 strips of paper from the kit, the strips will need to be approx 4 to 5 inches in length x about 4mm wide
  15. Using a Pokey Tool or a Knitting needle or something with a fine point, twirl the paper strips around the point, leaving a tab piece uncurled at one end.
  16. Do the same to all 4 strips of paper.
  17. Attach the Beer Board sentiment to the card front using a dab of wet glue.
  18. Add 2 of the paper curls to the card front using wet glue, attach them approx 1 ½ away from each other in the 2 opposite corners to the sentiments.
  19. Using silicone glue, start adding the flowers to the card front, over the top of the paper curls.
  20. Tie a bow with the satin ribbon and add 3D foam under the bow, then attach it just above the Just for You sentiment.
  21. Finally add a few clear crystal gems around on the card front
  22. The finished card.
