Exclusive Project

A quick crafty way to upcycle your stationery

This beautiful project from Vikki Gorham is perfect if you want to transform your stationery in next to no time. Within minutes this project will allow you to go from a plain biro to a beautiful pen, fit for a number of occasions. Watch the video to view this project or read below.

You will need:

  • A biro pen
  • Redline tape
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Ball of Twine
  • Flowers/embellishments/ribbons of your choice – choose from a selection on Create and Craft

  1. Stick the redline tape to the length of your chosen pen. Peel off the back of the tape.

  2. Take your twine and unravel a generous amount.

  3. Stick the twine onto the top of the pen and circle around the diameter until the length of the pen is covered.

  4. When you reach the bottom of the pen, cut the twine leaving a small amount unstuck.

  5. Apply glue from the glue gun to the bottom of the pen and stick the remaining piece of twine down. Be careful not to burn or stick your fingers!

  6. Take one of your flower embellishments and apply some glue to the bottom of it.

  7. Hold the flower securely on the top of the pen for a few seconds until it is set.

  8. Add more detail by tying a lace bow around the top and any other embellishments.
