Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Double Stamped & Embossed Card

"What next? after mastering the art of rubber stamping – overstamping or double stamping can work for so many different stamps. In this project we will double stamp the background to achieve a unique look, that has a texture from the heat embossing as well as the interest from the black stamping, teaming the background with some stamped florals, this technique is great to try with so much of your rubber stamp stash." - Ann-marie Vaux

Step-by-step:

  1. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Cut a layer of the black cardstock approx ¼inch smaller than the base card and cut the lilac cardstock ½inch approx smaller than the base card, to create 2 layers.

  2. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Take the largest patterned background stamp and using black permanent ink, stamp all over the lilac layer of cardstock, creating a pattern either random or matched (the pattern is up to you)

  3. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Next using the Perfect Medium Ink pad, stamp the 2nd background stamp over the top of the black stamped background.

  4. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Cover the Perfect Medium stamping with White Heat Embossing Powder.

  5. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Using a Heat Gun, emboss the Embossing Powder.

  6. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Blend the Shaded Lilac Distress Ink around the edges of the layer stamped cardstock, then using flat glue attach the layer to the front of the card together with the black cardstock layer.

  7. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Stamp your floral stamps on the Purple & Lilac Pastel cardstock using the Perfect Medium ink pad.

  8. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Then use white embossing powder & heat emboss the floral stamps.

  9. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Die cut some leaves and cut out the flower stamps you have just embossed.

  10. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Stamp the sentiment on the Lilac Pastel cardstock and die cut a piece of the Purple cardstock to layer with the sentiment layer.

  11. Double Stamped & Embossed Card

Attach the flowers to the card front on top of the stamped layer, then using 3D foam add the sentiment over the flower stalks.
