Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card

Create this clever folded box card with just one sheet of A4 card. The tied front opens to reveal an array of beautiful Eastern Inspired patterns and textures with a beautiful moving elephant tucked in the centre.

You will need:

  • Create this clever folded box card with just one sheet of A4 card. The tied front opens to reveal an array of beautiful Eastern Inspired patterns and textures with a beautiful moving elephant tucked in the centre.
  • White card
  • Ribbon
  • Sentiment stamp
  • Acetate
  • Scalloped circle and circle die
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Purple ink pad
  • Purple gems
  • Foam pads
  • Double-sided tape
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Creasing tool

You Might Need:

Instructions:

  1. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Use the template provided to draw, cut out and score a sheet of white card. Valley and mountain fold as shown. Download the Template here
  2. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Use the template again to trim patterned paper for the folded panels at the top and bottom of the card.


    Adhere contrasting papers to the side panels.
  3. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Turn the card cover and attach the flaps to the top and bottom to create a box.


    Decorate the back and side panels with contrasting papers then attach ribbon across the centre of the panels.
  4. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Fussy cut an elephant, trim the head and ears off two other elephants then layer up with foam pads to create a decoupage.


    Stamp a sentiment on white card, cut out then layer on patterned paper.
  5. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Die-cut an 8cm diameter scalloped circle in white card.


    Die-cut a 7cm diameter circle on patterned paper, adhere on top then add purple gems around the edge.


    Attach a thin strip of acetate to the back of the scalloped circle.
  6. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the box towards the front.



    Thread the ends of the acetate through the holes then fix in place so the scalloped circle sits centrally in the box.
  7. Eastern Inspired Folded Box Card Attach the elephant to the scalloped circle then close the box and secure with the ribbon.


    Attach the sentiment on the right-hand side with foam pads.
