Floral Wall Hanging

Floral Wall Hanging

“Using the resist-embossing technique, you will be making a lovely, floral wall hanging using an embroidery hoop.” - Louise Raine

You will need:

  • embroidery hoop (six inch)
  • stamps by me (club members' gift)
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • white embossing powder
  • heat gun
  • blending tools
  • sponge daubers
  • stamping card
  • stamping platform or block
  • red liner tape or glue
  • ribbon
  • Distress ink pads of your choice

Time to Make: 1 hour

Skill Level: Beginner

  1. Desktop Calendar

Draw around the outside of the embroidery hoop and cut out.

  2. Desktop Calendar

Stamp two images using Versamark ink pad, and then pour embossing powder over both. One will be used later for decoupage.

  3. Desktop Calendar

Heat with heat gun until embossing powder turns shiny. If paper warps, heat slightly from the back.

  4. Desktop Calendar

Using Spun Sugar Distress ink, add to the card using circular motions with your blending tool. Add as much or little as you would like. I completely covered my stamped image.

  5. Desktop Calendar

Apply the other colours using small, sponge daubers. I used Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage and Wild Honey.

  6. Desktop Calendar

After all the colours have been added, the stamped image should look like this.

  7. Desktop Calendar

Colour and cut out the middle flower on the spare image, and using foam pads, place on the main project. You can also decoupage leaves.

  8. Desktop Calendar

Glue or tape the circle on the back of the embroidery hoop, and add some ribbon.

In these short, easy steps, you now have a beautiful decoration piece that will fit into any home. You can even add a sentiment to the project to personalise it; this would make a great gift for Mother's Day!
