I have been cardmaking since autumn 2016, and find creating cards incredibly therapeutic, but I also love giving my cards to family and friends, and seeing the joy they bring to each person.
I have always been a very creative person in my previous careers: making displays for schools and libraries that I worked at, as well as creating props for theatre, film and television productions. I also work with a local retirement home, and bring fun and different crafts to the residents each month. It is such a wonderful experience to see the delight on their faces when they look at what they have created.
My first crafty purchase in 2016 was a Scan N Cut, and I absolutely adore using it; it’s such a fantastic machine, and a tool that allows me to be really creative! I have learnt a lot in the past 2 years. I’m addicted to perfecting new skills: once I start to learn something, I want to know everything possible! I also feel extremely lucky and excited to be sharing my knowledge with the Create and Craft viewers, and hopefully inspiring new crafters, just like I was inspired when I tuned into Create and Craft in 2016!
Cards (particularly easel and pop-up box cards)
Gluing a topper onto a card, and realising the card was upside down – live on Create and Craft!
Always remember craft is supposed to be fun; if something goes wrong with your project, don’t get upset, just start again or even change it into something new!
