How To Mask A Stamped Image

How To Mask A Stamped Image

"Masking an image is fun and means you can create a one layer card without a lot of hassle. Here I have used my masked image for stamping over and in creating a stencilled background." Shabneez Khan-Muztar

Step-by-step:

  1. How To Mask A Stamped Image

    1. Stamp out the image you want to mask on masking paper and cut out.

    2. Stamp out the same image on stamping card where you want it.

    3. Stamp the leaves over the masked image to show the Squirrel is sitting on the leaves.

    4. Attach the stencil over the image. I used the Ranger Make Art Stay-cation to hold my stencil in place. I find it’s one of the best craft tools I own. I used the Broken China Oxide ink through the stencil with the blending brush.

  5. How To Mask A Stamped Image

    5. Peel the masking sheet off.

  6. How To Mask A Stamped Image

    6. Colour in the stamped images. I used my Chameleon Markers.

  7. How To Mask A Stamped Image

    7. Die cut the small scalloped frame in black card and adhere to the scene you’ve created, trim the excess. Die cut the smile in yellow card. Adhere to the card with glue. Stamp a sentiment beneath the die cut.

  8. Top Tip: You can use your stamped mask image again – just stick onto the backing sheet and keep with the appropriate stamp set.
