7 Ideas to Get Crafty with Coral Hues

If you haven’t crafted with Pantone’s gorgeous colour of the year yet, here’s your chance!

7 Ideas to Get Crafty with Coral Hues

1 Candle

Candles always add an element of glamour to a home, and by crafting your own, you can easily customise the colour, scent, and even what interesting candle holder it comes in. Why not use an easy candle-making kit such as Eazi Candle Bond Street Blend Wax and Wicks, with a lovely white candle holder, fresh linen fragrance and a pretty coral coloured candle, for pure bliss.

2 Knit Throw

There are so many pretty blanket stitches and designs available, it’s hard to choose just one. Using a yarn such as Caron Simply Soft in Neon Coral, you could opt for a striking contrast pattern of coral and green, or choose a solid coral throw with a pretty gold trim. Either way, the finished result will be luxuriously snuggly.

3 Raspberry Smoothie

Raspberries blend to create gorgeous coral-coloured smoothies, and when combined with orange juice, yoghurt and a drizzle of honey, the results are deliciously tasty. You can then decorate the top and around the glass with cute little berries, for picturesque results. Why not enjoy a glass with friends when the weather’s warm, or treat yourself after a busy day of crafting?

4 Pompoms

Pompoms make delightful little decorations and homeware additions. Plus, they’re super easy to make. If you want to add some coral to your home, but don’t particularly want to redecorate, little pompom additions are a perfect compromise. You could make a few in Korbond DK Colour Shock Acrylic Yarn in Bright Coral to add to some pillows, or even fill a jar with them to place on the mantelpiece.

5 Paper Blooms

Crepe paper makes fantastic faux flowers, thanks to its textured surface and mouldability. Plus, it’s far more durable than real flowers and won't wilt or droop, making this project a fantastic decoration. Have a go at making several gorgeous coral roses and peonies, using paper such as Lia Griffith Double-Sided Crepe Paper.

6 Shawl

The weather’s definitely getting warmer, but we still have the odd chilly day, so why not sew yourself a pretty lightweight shawl or jacket? Tilda Lazy Days Coral Fabric offers a sweet collection of lilac, cool blue and coral floral patterns, perfect for the upcoming summer months.

7 Cupcakes

With some coloured buttercream icing and a piping bag, you can create gorgeous coral rose decorations on top of cupcakes. To do it, simply pipe petals around the base, working in a counter-clockwise direction, and creating small arches for each individual petal. It’s tricky to get the hang of, but the aesthetic is so lovely – there’s a reason they’re a popular wedding treat!
