  • Leonie Pujol

"I love working with inks; I'm never happier than when I've many colours under my nails and all over my hands!"

Leonie is best known to Ideal World and Create and Craft viewers for presenting craft items.

Originally from Lancashire, Leonie now lives in Peterborough to be closer to work (true dedication!).

With a history of working in television shopping, running workshops and demonstrating, Leonie is well versed in her speciality - crafting - and loves stamping and working with inks.

However, her crafty net is widening to include CDs, knitting, jewellery - there just not enough hours in the day!

What did you do before Create and Craft?
I made cards and scrapbooking samples for another shopping channel and also appeared as a craft guest. I also ran, and continue to run, card-making workshops.

    Most embarrassing on-screen moment?
I have already managed to wear a dress with a tight belt, which the poor young man backstage had to fish up in order to change my microphone. How to make friends and influence people, eh?

    Tell us a secret
Not before a bottle or two of vino!

What's your idea of the perfect Sunday (when you're not working)?
A beautiful sunny day, a lovely walk with the doggies, good food, then a great night out - comedy club or somewhere for a good laugh.

Who do you most admire and why?
I meet people I admire all the time, but there are so many I haven't met who I hold in high esteem; there are so many people who do amazing things and pass us by without us even knowing what a difference they make.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself and others?
I am horrendous at keeping in touch with people, returning calls and remembering birthdays. In others, I dislike people who take advantage of other people or abuse their power, along with inflated egos, and deceit.

Aside from property, what's the most expensive thing you've bought?
    My little car.

    What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Allowing my dogs to snuggle up on the settee with me.

What keeps you wake at night?
Anything and everything. I'm a big worrier.

How would you like to be remembered?
I would like to be remembered as being a decent person, with a happy spirit. I'd also love to have my own designs out there, and would love to be remembered for my work, as well. Mainly, I think we all want to be remembered in a good way - so I hope I live my life with consideration for others.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
To try and find something to laugh about in every situation, keep those you love close and live your life - you never know what's around the corner, so make the most of every minute.

    Favourite Create and Craft product?
My favourite products on Create and Craft are essentially everything; anyone who has watched over an hour of my presenting knows I love at least 5 products an hour! I'm a crafter - to choose one favourite would be impossible!

    Which phrase do you overuse?
Apparently I say "stunning" a lot at the moment. And my version of 'little' seems to be one of my favourites! Least favourite word is autumnal - I can't say it or spell it!

If you could travel back in time, which period would you visit?
I'd want to be greedy and start with the dinosaurs and go from there - each period is so fascinating. If I was forced to choose, I'd want to be a hippy in the '60s.
