Yes. I’m the oldest of 5 children so my Mam was an avid knitter and seamstress who made a lot of our clothes to save money (as you did when I grew up).
I learned to knit at school when I was about 8 years old and our first project was a dishcloth which I gave to my Mam.
I wanted to be a junior school teacher and did go to Teacher Training College in Ponteland in Northumberland for 3 years.
I was sitting in The Chantry in Morpeth, a place for artists to show their work, demonstrating teabag folding when someone approached me and asked if I would like to teach craft in a Young Offenders Institution, which I went on to do for 3 years. Around the same time a friend asked me to have a screen test at Ideal World to stand in for her when needed; and the rest is history.
I like to knit and do some cross stitch when I have the time. I also love driving which is helpful when I have to do so much travelling in my job. Walking our Old English Sheepdog, Maisie, on our local beach whenever I can is definitely my favourite pastime.
My craft CD ROMs and DVD ROMs. A warehouse on a disk which never shuts or runs out of stock!
That’s a difficult one as I would need electricity to be available.

To be healthy and happy as I had a cancer scare last year which put everything in my life into perspective. Anything else is a bonus.
It must be introducing Pollyanna Pickering’s beautiful artwork to the crafting world. It was a “lightbulb” moment which has given many crafters a great deal of pleasure. Her artwork is amazing and a joy to craft with.
If you are just starting on your crafting journey buy a craft CD ROM as your first purchase to craft with. All you then need is good quality card and paper and scissors and adhesive and your adventure begins without having to invest a lot of money. That comes later!
