How to Make Easter Bunting

An egg-cellent craft project for Easter, this do-it-yourself bunting is easy to make and can be used year after year. We’ve created adorable bunny bunting for our celebrations, but you don’t have to stick to this design. Our method is versatile, so you can use it to create bunting in any theme or design, and for any occasion. For inspiration, we thought we’d show you how to make ‘HAPPY EASTER’ bunting with bunny and Easter egg decorations!

You Will Need:

METHOD: ‘Happy Easter’ Papercraft Bunting

  1. Cut out the printed Easter egg and bunny templates.
  2. Place the templates onto your chosen cardstock and draw around each one. You need to draw 11 Easter egg decorations and 11 bunny decorations.
  3. Cut out all of the Easter egg and bunny decorations.
  4. Using a ruler, draw a 2cm line at the back of each decoration, going downwards from the centre top. This will ensure your decorations hang evenly when attached to the bunting cord.
  5. Using the letter stencils, draw the letters that compose ‘HAPPY EASTER’ onto new cardstock. You need to make sure the colours and prints of the letters and eggs contrast so they can be easily seen when they’re layered together.
  6. Cut out the letters and place each one onto an egg decoration. Glue each letter down and leave to dry for 5 minutes.
  7. While the Easter egg decorations dry, glue a pom-poms onto each bunny decoration to create the effect of a fluffy tail. Allow to dry for 5 minutes.
  8. On a flat surface, arrange the decorations so the bunting says ‘HAPPY EASTER’ with a cute bunny decoration in between each letter.
  9. Measure out your required length of cord, remembering to measure enough cord so you have at least a 5cm gap between each decoration and at each end. Do not cut the cord.
  10. Lay the cord directly below your arrangement. Measuring the required gap between each decoration as you go, stick each decoration onto the cord using tape. You should tape the cord to the decorations at the bottom of each pre-drawn pencil line.
  11. Check each decoration is secure to the cord and the spacing is even, and then cut the cord.
  12. Use the pins to hang your bunting.
