Q1. Have you always been creative?

Yes. I can remember spending hours as a young child colouring. Funnily enough it is still something that I do a lot of and one of my favourite pastimes.

Q2. What is the first thing you can recall making as a child and who was it for?

My first make was a felt owl that I made with my grandma on her treadle Singer sewing machine. It was for my Mum.

Q3. What did you want to be when you ‘grew up’?

Lol! I wanted to be Tigger! Although that didn’t quite work out!!!! I loved the idea of teaching and sharing and although I don’t work in a classroom environment teaching is my favourite part of my job and being able to do that to a big audience is why I love working for Create and Craft.

Q4. Why/when did you decide you could make a living out of crafting?

I returned from a six month stay in America aged 18 and set up my own floristry business. I had helped out in a store over there and fell in love with the idea of a creative job. I never dreamt that 30 years later I would still be in this fantastic industry.

Q5. Do you have any other hobbies?

To be honest I really don’t have much spare time and when I do I spend it with my lovely grandchildren who are both truly wonderful. I am so fortunate that my hobby is my job and long may it continue.

Q6. What craft item can you not live without?

Definitely my Scanncut. It is my favourite EVER craft product along with the Cutterpillar trimmer.
I love quality products that deliver and I am very excited about seeing the Scanncut grow even further and to see what else Cutterpillar come up with I the future

Q7. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take 5 items, what would they be – and why?

Q8. What’s your biggest ambition in life?

I would love to write a book one day and also learn to play the guitar. Oh and grow old disgracefully!!!!

Q9. What’s been the highlight of your crafting life so far?

I am very lucky that there have been many highlights. I still get a real buzz from bringing products to air and being involved with the Disney and Warner Bros launches still gives me spine tingles. I didn’t get to be Tigger but I do get to craft with him.

Q10. Any advice for beginners?

Buy the best quality products you can afford and believe in yourself. Everybody has creativity in them you just have to find your style. Watch other crafters and learn from them but always put your spin on it rather than just copying.
