This project combines the classic art of hand embroidery with a modern contemporary style to make a lovely addition to your home deco.
Print out the pattern and trace on to the centre of your fabric with a Frixion Pen, if you have trouble seeing it use a light tablet. Practice the french knot stitch as shown on the template sheet. (The Frixion Pen is a gel pen but your marks will disappear when heat is applied to it from ironing)
Place the fabric into an embroidery hoop.
Start at the bottom of the heart, with a red thread, fill in the bottom space with a french knot, as you work up the heart thin out the stitches. Now with the pink thread continue filling in the space with the french knots, as you get to the top of the heart shape space the stitches out leaving lots of gaps.
Remove the fabric from the hoop and Iron out any pattern marks.
Before placing it back in to the hoop, draw around your hoop on to some felt and cut out. Now put your piece back in to the hoop and ensure that it is taught.
Trim off the over hanging fabric so that there is enough to adhere this to the inner hoop. Use a glue gun to adhere to the inner hoop and then adhere the felt back to the back of the hoop to hid the back of the stitches.
Hang using some Twine.
