  • 3 Tubs of Pinflair Bookbinding Glue and Spatula

Time to Make: 60 – 90 Minutes

Skill Level: Intermediate - Advanced

  1. Notebook Gift Idea Take 3 sheets of A4 kraft card and cut into 6 A5 pieces and round the edges with a corner punch to create a smoother edge to your notebook. Next fix the 3 sheets for the top cover of the notebook together using Pinflair bookbinding glue and repeat with the remaining 3 pieces to create the bottom cover. Allow to dry fully before moving to the next stage.
  2. Notebook Gift Idea Using a Hole punch or eyelet tool punch 2 holes at 2” in from the edge, repeat on both covers.
  3. Notebook Gift Idea Take some good quality paper or thin card stock and cut as many sheets as you would like to fill your notebook. Measurements are 14.5cm x 20cm so that these sheets fit perfectly inside the covers. Round the pages using the corner punch to match your covers.
  4. Notebook Gift Idea Notebook Gift Idea To ensure your pages have the holes in the correct place use your cover holes as a guide and punch the holes through all the pages. To finish the notebook we need to bind the notebook together using the metal rings these can be key ring rings or ring binder rings, the choice is yours. .
  5. Notebook Gift Idea We can now decorate the notebook, I have used The Paper Boutique Secret Romance paper pad and chosen a couple of sheets to use, trimmed the polka dot sheet to use as the main cover piece and rounded the edges and then a further 1” strip from a second sheet of patterned paper. I have fixed this as a wrap and tucked the edges under the cover.
  6. Notebook Gift Idea Now this next stage is an alternative to the first project so this time I have used pieces of coordinating ribbons and tied them on to the rings as shown.
  7. Notebook Gift Idea As with the first project I have used a piece of patterned card from the Topper Popper Pad and fussy cut that out and also a circular sentiment topper from the Paper Pad & topper set, I have glued those both down with Pinflair book binding glue so that they are sealed down nicely. You are now all finished.

So whether you are short of time and fancy a quick craft project or fancy a bigger project these notebooks are great as unique gifts and can be adapted by changing the papers and colours to suit the recipient of the notebooks.
