About Penelope Quinn

I’m a blogger, presenter, writer, craft addict and upcycling fanatic – I just love providing solutions to everyday problems, using things most of us already have at home! As Grandma says, ‘make do, make mend.’

With a bit of creativity, imagination and know-how, I strive to serve up simple yet stylish projects that I know the crafty among you will appreciate just as much as I do! I’m constantly on the hunt for fashion and beauty inspired ‘crafty life hacks’, and passionate about reaching out to a new generation of thrifty, resourceful crafters!

I love to create beautiful, practical pieces that are kind to the wallet and the earth, without sacrificing style.

Q&A

What’s Your Favourite Thing To Make?

Everything! I'm a multi-crafter, and I love the challenge of creating projects out of unloved items.

What’s Your Favourite Material To Work With?

Low VOC spray paint and gold leaf - both these materials should be in every upcycler’s kit - you can use them to breathe new life into almost anything.

Tell Us About Your Funniest Crafting Mistake…

When I tried to make string eggs for Easter, I ignored the instructions and didn't water down the PVA, so when it came to burst the balloons, they all collapsed! I'd made about 12 of them, and was just left with a big stringy mess.

Do You Have A Top Crafting Tip?
