A Beautiful Love Story

A Beautiful Love Story

As a staple in the papercrafting world, Hunkydory is known for coming up with innovative products and great new designs. Natalie Muspratt, Hunkydory’s creative design team coordinator, introduces us to the company’s new fairytale collection with some fantastic cards. Get ready to be whisked away to another world with charming card toppers and foiled acetate sheets!

Natalie’s crafted three fairytale cards in total – this guide is for the clever acetate one on the left side of the image, but you can head to page 62 in our winter 2019/2020 issue of Craft Club for the amazing card in the centre!

Tools and materials required

  • Hunkydory: Once Upon a Twilight luxury foiled acetate; Adorable scoreboard; Once Upon a Twilight luxury topper set
  • Hi-tack tape
  • Foam roll
  • Foam pads

Cut a piece of foiled acetate card to 6” x 10”. Position the foiled border on the left side and score the acetate 2.5” and 5” from the left. Fold the first score line forwards, mountain-style, and the second one inwards, valley-style, to make a fold back card.

Cut a 5.5” x 6” piece of star-patterned acetate and score it 0.5” from the left. Use hi-tack tape to stick the tab onto the inner edge of the card base’s centre fold. Attach it so that the acetate stands away from the cardstock.

Layer strips of foam roll at the opposite end of the acetate until it is level with the inner part. Use the other foiled border to cover the edge of the acetate and hide the layers of foam.

Attach the frame of the ‘This is the beginning’ topper to the acetate, trimmed to shape. Attach the topper in the centre with foam pads. Position this on the front of the card so that it sits half on the first fold. Attach two smaller toppers in the bottom-right corner of the card.
