Tools and materials required

  • Light Grey Self Hardening Clay
  • Cling film
  • Rolling pin
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Rare Earth watercolour concentrate
  • Rare Earth Pitch Black ink
  • Rare Earth Stamps
  • Cookie cutter
  • Acrylic stamping blocks
  • Paint brushes
  • Twine

Start by rolling the clay out to about 3mm thick. put it between two pieces of cling film or baking paper so you can move the clay around without it sticking to your work surface.

Choose a stamp you would like to use. I have used stamps by Rare Earth, Forest friends and Nouveau Stamp image using Rare Earth Pitch Black Ink onto Clay.

Use a cookie cutter to cut out your clay, then make a small hole at the top.

Paint with the Rare Earth watercolour concentrates. I have used the inks with no water as I do not want to wet the clay too much, then leave to dry overnight.

Seal with Mod Podge and leave to dry.

Lastly hang with some twine. All finished Happy making.
