Autumn Wreath by Charlotte Newland

This beautiful wreath makes a gorgeous autumnal decoration for your home, and is so simple to make. It’s the perfect project to make with your children, too!

You Will Need:

  • Polystyrene wreath form
  • Natural jute string
  • Felt squares in autumn leaf colours
  • Plain dressmaking pins

  1. First, wrap the string around the wreath form, making sure to cover the polystyrene completely. You don’t want any of the white to peek through, so take your time to do this carefully.

  2. Secure the end of the string with a pin.

  3. Next, cut the felt into leaf shapes. I used five different shades of felt to make my wreath feel really autumnal.

  4. Using pins, attach the felt leaves to your covered wreath. Overlap the leaves so that the pins are hidden. Cover as much or as little of the wreath as you like. I really liked the effect of the string, so chose to leave a lot of the wreath uncovered.

  5. Make a hanging loop from a piece of string and attach it to the back of the wreath with pins. Display your beautiful autumn wreath with pride!.
