You Will Need:

  • Solid Oak 8mm x 6mm Crystal Rondelle Bead Collection
  • Solid Oak 4mm Bicone Beads Collection
  • Riverside Beads Complete Findings Collection
  • Clear nail varnish
  • Pliers: flat-nosed, round-nosed
  • Scissors

  1. Cut a length of clear elastic about 30cm long. Thread beads in a design of your choice, and to the size you require. To determine the correct size, hold the strands of elastic together around your wrist, so the beads meet – the beads should fit all the way around, without any gaps.

  2. To form a surgeon’s knit, place the left strand over the right and loop through, then the right strand over the left and loop through. Keep these loose. Pull the lower knot close so that the beads are almost touching, ensuring that there are no gaps. Take one tail of your elastic and thread it through the circle created from these knots.

  3. Wrap this tail around a few times. Pull the knot tight to secure. Use a small dab of clear nail varnish on the knot, then push it into a bead to hide. Leave to dry. Thread each tail through the beads before trimming the excess.
