Bring the beauty of spring into your home with this beautiful embroidery hoop art project! Discover how to create this stunning embroidery hoop garland using only a handful of craft supplies, and foliage scavenged from your own back garden! Check out our straightforward step-by-step tutorial below, and discover just how easy it is!
First, take a large hoop and measure your netting – it needs to be slightly larger than the hoop.
Place your netting it in between the hoops, and pull it taught, cutting off any excess.
Take your text stencil, and lay it under the netting. Using a light coloured pen, draw your design onto the netting.
I used a running stitch to attach the sequins to the net with gold thread, however you could also use glue.
Now it’s time to attach the flowers. Use fine florist wire to tie each piece of foliage to the hoop, threading through the holes in the florist wire.
You could experiment with different foliage throughout the year, or even use artificial flowers so that your garland looks fabulous all year-round.
If you’re feeling really creative why not create your own fabric or paper flowers to match this piece to your room decor? The possibilities really are endless!
