The Rinea collection just screams out to be folded on papercraft projects and this stunning card features both folding and dimension! The papers are lovely to stamp on, die cut, tear and fold into shape, in such a great range of colours - this is just one of the incredible card design you could create with your Rinea papers!
Cut one of the Gold Rinea papers to fit the blank base card and then using flat tape, attach the layer to your base card.
Use a contrasting colour of Rinea paper and die cut a frame; I used the Turquoise pattern paper.
Using a ruler or the guide on a trimmer, cut out a selection of different colours of the Rinea papers into 2.5inch x 2.5inch size squares. I have cut out more squares then I will need so I can pick the best for the card; you will need 8 squares for this project.
Tip: If you stick to using the colours that are in each pack, as these will all work together.
Taking one of the squares, fold it in half one way and make a crease in the centre.
Then fold the square in half the other way and make a crease in the centre – This will show where the centre is with a folded cross.
Next, open the square flat and then fold one corner towards the centre of the square, to the folded cross in the middle of the square.
Carry on folding the other 3 corners into the middle.
Then turn the square over.
Next, start folding the corners of the square in to the middle again.
Continue folding the corners into the middle of the square
Create as many squares as you want.
With the next step, I found it easier to add tape to the actual card front in the centre of the frame, rather than on the back of the squares, so I added 2 strips of tape across the card front and started adding the squares one by one, so they can be positioned equally.
I carried on adding the 8 squares in the frame centre.
Now, select 2 different colours of the Rinea papers and die-cut a fancy sentiment base.
Using the sentiment stamp of your choice, stamp the sentiment in black ink onto one of the sentiment die cuts.
Take the second unstamped die cut, and cut it in half.
Attach half of the fancy die cut to the back of the stamped sentiment die cut, with a little bit of overlap, showing the second colour as a shadow.
Then follow the previous step for the other half of the die cut to create the shadow effect at the other side of the sentiment die cut.
Add 3D foam on the back of the sentiment die cut, and firmly attach to the front of the card over the top of the folded squares, through the centre.
Add a few gems around the edge of the die-cut frame to finish the card off.
21. And your card is complete!
