“This flower hoop is an ideal craft project to add colour and lift spirits. Perfect for a gift for a friend or change the sentiment to make a perfect addition to your own home.” Tracey Collett
Take the 2 mdf hoops and draw the outlines out on the polka dot card and cut them out ready to back the hoops once they are decorated.
Take the smaller mdf hoop and wrap it with one of the grosgrain ribbons, glue the end down and in place with Glue it glue. Now use the glue to adhere the smaller polka dot circle to the underside of the ribbon wrapped hoop. The larger hoop is decorated by using a white posca pen and then dabbing the gold glitter paste over the top. Once it is dry, glue this hoop to the larger of the polka dot circles we cut out earlier. Finally glue the smaller hoop inside the larger hoop off centre.
Cover the mdf sentiment with the gold glitter paste that we used on the larger hoop.
Create a loop with the other grosgrain ribbon on the back of the hoop, glue this in place and add a panel of polka dot card to cover the fixings. Create a bow in the same ribbon and glue this in place on the front of the hoop.
Using a die or a punch cut out some flowers and leaves out of matching polka dot card. As they are double sided you can alternate the colour patterns as you begin to place and layer your flower arrangement. Glue these down with Pinflair Glue Gel around the hoops.
We can now start to add all the extra embellishments we would like to add. I have used an alphabet stamp set to create a panel with ‘My Dearest’ stamped on it which then works well with our mdf sentiment we coated in gold glitter earlier. Glue these in place on the hoops. Add any extra buttons or flowers that you would like to finish the project with.
