  • 6x6 card blanks
  • Brea Reese inks
  • Paint brush
  • Brea Reese watercolour brush
  • Water
  • Spray bottle
  • Spray bottle
  • Disposable gloves
  • Foam pads

  1. Take a 6x6 card blank, cut in half, and trim one panel slightly smaller. I used a 300gsm card blank. Randomly drop a few drops of ink onto the card, do not go to close to the edge. As the card is coated the ink will initially sit on the surface. For these cards i used the colours: Green/Verte, Cadmium Yellow, Orange and Medium Magenta.

  2. Tilt the card slightly to allow the paint to move, be gentle, the idea is to keep the ink on the card, not your best top…..(Trust me I know!). Take a brush, and begin to move the paint, leaving white spaces, darker colours will take over light. Take a piece of kitchen towel and blot.

  3. Add more drops of ink into the white spaces, i used the lighter colours, and repeat the blotting process. Using the side of the brush pull random streaks up the card, I was thinking branches. Blot again. Fill in any spaces again with Cadmium Yellow.

  4. Finally using your medium Brea Reese water brush, tap the side to give some droplets onto your card and then give a light spritz of water, and a final blot on any dark areas you do not want.

  5. Repeat the process on another piece of card, to use for embellishments. Mount onto a 6x6 card blank with foam tape. Use any flower die you have and a strip of some handmade washi tape. Top Tip – Wear Gloves especially for darker colours
