Phrynette Morrison‘s Gatefold Box Card



Create this gorgeous gatefold box card to send a greeting to a loved one.

You Will Need:

  • Hobby House Bluebell Wood Collection
  • Hobby House shaped mats
  • Double sided tape
  • Red liner tape
  • 3d foam pads
  • Scissors
  • Scoreboard (and ruler)
  • Lace

Instructions:

  1. Take an A4 pearl white sheet from the Bluebell Wood kit and cut 4cm off the long side.

  2. Score the large part of the sheet down the short side at 4cm, 8cm, 22cm, 26cm and 30cm. Fold and burnish all score lines. The front flaps fold inwards like a gatefold. The two middle sections give depth to the project.

  3. Cut two strips of backing paper 3.5cm by 16 cm and stick to the two front panels.

  4. Cut a piece of backing paper 13cm by 16 cm and stick in centre section of card.

  5. Take a circular topper from the topper sheets and attach to a pearl white scallop layer from the layer kit. Make sure you trim off any “pips” that have been used in the carrier sheet to give a more professional image.

  6. Mount the scallop topper onto 3d foam and attach to the to the centre top of the middle section.

  7. Using the strip of pearl card that you cut off, trim a piece to measure 4.5cm by 14cm.

  8. Cut a strip of backing paper 4cm by 13.5 and attach to the strip above.

  9. Attach a strip of lace to this panel and secure round the back using red liner tape.

  10. Now fix this strip to the front gatefold panels of the card making sure your tape does not extend passed the 4cm width of each front panel. The panel should sit at 1cm from the bottom of the card.

  11. Stick one of the sentiments in to the top left hand panel and three pearls to the bottom right panel just above the connecting.
