Take 2 white creased cards (150mm x 150mm square). On both cards score and crease the card front in half so the card front folds back on itself.
Once this is complete, stick the two square cards together using a glue stick so the two 150mm square back panels become one (which will then be twice as thick). Make sure that one folded back front faces out to the left and the other folded front faces to the right. The new square card will now, not only form a gatefold front, but when extended open, creates a solid square back, a left inside panel, a left gate panel, a right inside panel, and right gatefolded panel.
Using the decorative papers from the Antique Botanical Collection, measure and cut the papers to cover the square card back and the folded panels, both inside and out. If desired you can use a metallic sheet to add extra shine. Fix the decorative papers with glue or adhesive tape as desired. The card will now have a decorated wallpaper feel.
Take the decorative crown topper from the collection and fold the two gatefolds together to close the card. Apply adhesive to one half of the topper and affix the crown topper to the centre of the card front. You can also embellish the front using the butterflies and crowns included in the collection.
Taking a further topper, open the gatefold to show the decorated square panel and affix your desired topper to the centre of the square. You may also wish to use a sentiment for that special occasion.
Finally, apply some ‘bling’ gemstones to the crowns and butterflies. This finishing touch will enhance the crowns and lift the look of the finished card.
Voila! Your completed card will now gatefold flat, showing a regal front – and once opened, a fabulous inside!
