This is a fun way to decorate your tree or home for Christmas, you can tailor it to suit your own Christmas style and get the children involved too!
I have chosen a couple of different shapes and sizes, heart and stars.
Paint your wooden shape with a base cost. I have used a while chalk finish paint. Marabu Havanna Patina Paints work best on a Light-coloured background.
Now it’s time to use your Marabu Havanna Patina paints.
TIP. Cut your sponge into quarters so that you have 4 sponges to use, one for each colour. always rinse your sponges after using them.
I have started with the lightest colour (emerald), work the paint in bit by bit using a sponge.
Adding spots of the darker blue (turquoise) continue to work the paint in bit by bit using a sponge.
Add a small amount of the Medium brown.
Lastly add accents of the metallic liner and blend. I have applied all of the paint using a sponge and blended.
Cut 'Christmassy' shapes out of acetate, I have used a snowflake. This is your stencil which you will use with your Embossing paste.
TIP. if you make your stencil out of acetate you will be able to reuse time after time.
Place your stencil on to your painted wooden shape, you can use a low tack tape to hold your stencil in place.
Spread your paste using a palette Knife.
Then cover the paste with glitter. Shake off the excess and leave to set.
TIP. The paste sets quickly so I would work on one at a time and don't for get to put the lid back on the paste as it will set.
To embellish larger project you can add bow or text. I have die cut Merry Christmas out of glitter paper and attached with glue.
Thread with twine or ribbon to hang up.
You are ready to decorate your tree.
