This project is a great way to use up any scraps of paper you might have whilst also learning a brand new technique. Created by Shabneez Khan-Muztar, she has used 3 different papers but you can use as many as you like.
Choose 3 different papers and using a ruler and pencil draw and cut out strips 1cm wide. The length of my strips was the same length as the size of my paper pad which was 20cm. I cut 8 strips of each type of paper
Add adhesive to your card base. I found it quicker to add adhesive to the whole of the card base then stick on your strips so I used Sticky Roll. Once the adhesive is on, add your first strip diagonally as shown.
Add a further 2 strips as shown, making sure they are flush with the other. These will form the base of your pattern.
Add strips of the other 2 colours following the base strips as a guide.
Turn your card over and trim the excess strips so they are flush with the rest of the card.
Repeat adding strips to the other 3 sections, cutting excess after completing each one.
Add a sentiment to finish.
