This stitch pattern creates a tube of knitting. Carry on the pattern until the length is long enough to go around the head. Do not stetch the knitting as joining it will reduce the length.
Cast off all the stitches. Leave a yarn tail for sewing together. Weave in the cast on tail using the yarn needle. You can use the center of the tube to hide the end.
Thread the yarn needle on to the yarn tail. Taking the two ends, pinch them in half and put them together so they form layers.
Push the needle through all four layers of the knitting. Using a backstitch secure all four layers together along the edge. BACKSTITCH - a straight stitch where you take the needle behind the current stitch before moving forward.
Turn the knitting so the seam is on the back of the headband. Try on for size and enjoy wearing your new headband.
