Hot-foiling is a great technique to bring your makes to life. This simple card is so striking it could even be used as wall art.
Select the hot foil stamp you want to use and the hot foil, I used the Sweetheart hot foil stamp and the gold hot foil
Turn your Go Press machine on, lift the lid and place the hot foil stamp on the heat cushion and ensure the heat section is pushed firmly into the base so it can heat up
Cut a piece of foil and place it over the stamp, dull side up
Place the paper you want to use over the foil – I am using a large strip of paper from the C'est la Vie Collection
Close the lid and wait until the Go Press is hot enough and ready to use
When the machine is ready to use the light will turn green
Pull the top section away you the base and run to through your die cutting machine.
* Some machines may need a shim – this is all part of the 'try it' fun, I used a Sizzix Big Shot Plus and I needed the red shim that came with my machine, if your machine does not have any shims or extra adjusters, use scrap cardstock to build up the level until it is right.
Open the lid and remove your paper, then peel away the foil
The hot foiled sentiment
Using the magnetic tweezers touch the hot foil stamp and it will cling to the tweezers
Place the hot foil stamp on to the cooling mat, to cool before putting it away
Take a piece of the C'est la Vie paper
Cut away the inner section of the floral paper, leaving the rose together with the leaves, and the Life is Beautiful sentiment
Take the long strip of card that you have hot foil stamped on, and attach it to the front of the blank card base, to the right hand side of the card, using tape runners
Trim the excess of paper hanging over the edges of the card base
Use the tape runner or flat glue to the back of the cut out rose section of paper and attach over the card base, to the left side, ensuring the pattern is towards the bottom of the card
Trim away the over hang of patterned paper from the card base
Ink & blend the edges of the Life is Beautiful sentiment, with a pink toned ink
Add 3D foam to the back of the sentiment
Attach the sentiment to the front of the card above the roses
Take a section of glitter or shimmer card in gold and the birdcage die
Die cut the birdcage in the shimmer cardstock
Use a brown watercolour brush pen to highlight the little birdie in the cage
Attach the birdcage to the front of the card below the hot foil sentiment
Attach a bow above the birdcard
Add a few crystal gems around the card to finish off the card
