“With Love” shaker card

Create this effective shaker card, ideal for spring birthdays, Mother’s Day or a ‘just because’ greeting made by Siobhan Ferguson

You Will Need:

  • Die cutting machine
  • Docrafts Freshly Cut Flowers Die Cutting
  • Docrafts Freshly Cut Flowers embellishment Bundle
  • 8 x 8 Kraft Card Blank
  • Acetate
  • Filling for shaker
  • Foam tape and Red liner tape
  • Anita’s tacky glue
  • Circle Dies
  • Bakers Twine


  1. Using a 8” x 8” Kraft card blank as your base, cut 2 pieces of co-ordinating patterned paper from the kit for the background to your card. One measuring 7.5” x 7.5” and the other 7” x 7”. Off set both and glue onto your card.

  2. Using a set of circle dies, place the 2 largest dies together and die cut from Kraft card to form a frame.

  3. Using the largest circle die, cut a decorative image from patterned paper from the kit, this will form the back of your shaker.

  4. Line the frame with red liner tape, using the largest circle die cut a piece of acetate and fix onto the frame.

  5. Line the acetate frame with shaker tape, taking care not to leave any gaps.

  6. Using small dies or punches, create your filling for the shaker. Add your chosen filling and remove the shaker tape and attach the decorative image cut at step 3.

  7. Attach shaker to the middle of your card with glue, decorate the card by attaching a paper bow and ribbons from the kits. Affix a button tied with bakers twine onto of the bow. Attach 3 co-ordinating brads to the bottom left corner to finish your card.
