How To Crochet Autumn Leaf Make Up Remover Pads by Charlie Mumford

These make-up remover pads are a great way to become more eco-friendly when it comes to your morning or evening routine as they can be washed and re-used over and over again. They also make great little gifts on their own or stacked up in a decorated jar on your dressing table or bathroom counter.

Tools and materials required

  • Cotton DK Yarn in a selection of Autumnal Colours (Red, Orange, Yellow) 25g of each should be plenty to make at least 4.
  • Stitch markers
  • Crochet hook – 4mm in size
  • Knitters Needles (for sewing up at the end)

Note: Use a ¼” seam allowance


  • MR – Magic adjustable ring
  • CH – Chain stitch
  • DC – Double crochet stitch
  • 2DC increase – work two stitches in the same stitch/increase
  • TR – treble crochet stitch
  • 2TR increase – work two trebles into the same stitch
  • HTR – half treble crochet stitch
  • DTR – Double treble crochet stitch
  • SS – Slip stitch
  • FO – fasten off
  • ST/S – stitch/stitches


Round 1: Make a MR and DC9 into the ring. Pull together then SS to first st

Round 2: TR into each st, then 2TR in last st and SS to beginning st

Round 3: *Skip the first st, 7tr in the next st, then dc in next st* Repeat* to * 2 more times, then DC in the last st, ch4 then dc back down the chain to the body of the leaf. SS to the first st of the round.

Round 4: 1dc in first 2 sts, htr in next st, 3TR in next st, ch1, dtr in next st, ch3, ss into the first ch, dtr in the same st as the previous dtr, 3tr in next st, htr in next ch then dc in the next 2 sts.

Repeat this 2 more times and then dc into the remaining sts to finish the round. SS to the leaf stem and FO. Leave a long tail.

Now make another in the same colour. Using the tails, sew the two leaves together and weave in the ends.
