Fun and fabulous, this gorgeous Shoes and Bag Card will make a brilliant greeting for any occasion. Ideal for the shoe-aholic or handbag fiend in your life, this card project demonstrates how you can utilise the new Favourite Treats dies to create something truly stunning!
Select your blank card base and your shoe and handbag die – you do not need any outline dies at this stage.
Attach the full shoe and handbag die to the card front; use craft masking tape to secure it to the card and then run the card through your die-cutting machine.
Poke out all the areas that have been die-cut.
Now attach the handbag strap outline die to the front of the card, securing it in place with craft masking tape.
Run the card blank through your die-cutting machine again and then remove the die.
Cut a square of double-sided adhesive so it is approximately 5-6mm less than the size of the card.
To ensure the adhesive will fit, open the card and work on the inside of the card.
Peel one side of the double-sided adhesive away from the carrier sheet and attach it to the inside of the card so it is on the back of the die-cut design, then peel away the backing layer of the adhesive sheet completely.
(Tip: Rest the front of the card on the waste carrier layer to save it sticking to your work space.)
Cut a square of white card so it is approximately 2-3mm smaller than the card blank and attach the plain layer over the back of the die-cut design, on the inside of the card.
The card front will now look like the image, with double-sided adhesive showing through all the die-cut pieces, and the inside will be all white as if it were a full card again.
Die cut a piece of kraft card and attach the handbag and shoe die with craft masking tape to ensure it holds in place.
After die-cutting, carefully remove pieces from the die; these are sometimes classed as the waste, but in this instance you want to keep some of them. Pick out the pieces you want to use.
Start transferring the pieces of die-cut kraft card to the card front, sticking them to the apertures that have adhesive in them.
Add a few paper pieces in the shoes and the bag, but leave some areas blank.
For the areas left blank, sprinkle glitter to cover them. Sprinkle the glitter over the card.
Now the messy bit! To make sure all the glitter gets in all the areas that have adhesive in, use your finger and rub the glitter in.
On a scrap piece of paper, tip the excess glitter away – this can now go back in your pot by tipping it from the paper, to save wasting it.
Using a piece of clean, dry kitchen towel, give the card a wipe over to remove any excess glitter.
Optional: I had a tiny sentiment in my stash that fitted perfectly to the handbag front.
Use a sentiment from your own stash; I used one I thought worked well and added a glitter layer to it, then attached it to the card.
Using silicone glue, attach a bow to complete the card.
Voila! Your card is complete!
