Looking for St Patricks Day craft ideas? Check out this gorgeous garland featuring Ireland’s much-loved shamrock itself! This St Patricks Day decoration is an easy craft idea to tackle, and is the perfect way to prepare your home for a St Paddy’s Day celebration!
Make seven pom-poms in different sizes and various shades of green. With a pom-pom maker this is easy to do, simply wind your wool around the pom-pom maker, and be sure to tie it up with a length of wool long enough to hang from your St Patricks Day garland, once complete.
Draw out a template (or print from your computer!) of a shamrock. Draw around this template three times on green foam sheets, and three times on green felt sheets, using marker pens. Cut these shamrock shapes out, leaving a slight border around the outline, for effect.
Cut the Burlap into 6 x 6inch (15cm) strips and cut a V-shape into the tails as shown. Attach the shamrocks to the burlap using a glue gun.
Next, layer three of these burlap strips onto green felt, and the other three onto green foam sheets, to create a background and border. Be sure to leave a few inches of burlap free at the top of each piece, to provide you with enough to wrap over and secure each piece to the ribbon.
Tie the pom-poms you created to your length of ribbon, alternating with shamrock flags in between. Use your glue gun to attach the burlap flags.
Hang your St Patrick’s Day decoration up, and enjoy the party! Happy Crafting!
