Create a special box by upcycling a plain wooden box. - by Siobhan Ferguson
Mask off the interior of box to avoid any paint splashes.
Paint the box using the darker of your paints, allow to dry. Cover painted area with crackle glaze and allow to dry (overnight) Once crackle glaze is dry paint on your next layer of paint. This will now start to crackle.
Cut a piece of patterned paper to the size of the top of the box. Tear into the paper on one of the short edges. Curl up the torn edges.
Wrap some twine around the paper a couple of times, tie in a bow where the paper has been torn too.
Where the torn paper will sit on the box, cut a small piece of co-ordinating paper on glue onto the box lid, glue on the torn paper top. Beneath the tear you should see the co-ordinating paper. Wrap ribbon around the box as shown, attach using red liner tape.
Using a hot glue gun attach a few flowers at the start of the tear on the top of the box.
