Helen Kirkham teaches you how to make this simple and thoughtful sympathy card with a hint of colour.
Using the ScanNCut, cut two rectangles out of black card. The first measuring 6.75 by 4.75 inches and the second measuring 5.25 by 3.25 inches.
Cut a rectangle out of Kraft card measuring 5.50 by 3.50 inches.
Cut a rectangle out of white card measuring 6.75 by 4.75 inches.
Cut a rectangle out of white Rare Earth card measuring 5 by 3 inches. Using the Eureka 101 and black ink, stamp the flower on to the card.
Helen’s helpful hint Using a precision stamping tool like the Eureka will help if you don’t manage to stamp your image in one go, it will keep the image in the same place so you can stamp over more than once if you need to.
Cut a rectangle out of vellum measuring 8 by 2 inches. With the black ink stamp the ‘With sympathy’ sentiment on to the vellum.
Using the paintbrush from the Eureka 101, brush some water over the petals of the stamped image, then lightly touch the purple ink with the tip of your brush and paint over the petals. Once you have painted all the petals allow them to dry. Then using the purple ink add detail to the middle of the petals.
Helen’s helpful hint Allow the ink to dry and then add more colour if you want a darker petal, don’t try and add all the colour in one go as you can always add more colour but can’t take it away.
Brush some water over the stems and paint with the green ink. Mat and layer all the rectangles on top of each other.
Score the velum 1.5 inches in either side, wrap around the layered card and stick down at the back.
Glue the layers to the card blank.
