Smooshed Card

Smooshed Card

“Smooshing is a very simple but effective colouring technique that allows you to experiment with your coloured inks and create a different effect every time. To get you started you will need at least two coloured ink pads that complement each other (distress inks work well as they react really well to water), a sheet of acetate, an acrylic block and a small spritzer bottle of water. The basic principle is you stamp and ink on the block, spritz with water then use the acetate sheet to pick up the colour. You then transfer the ink onto your ackground card by laying the acetate on the card and rubbing your fingers over it to transfer the colour. This is the “smooshing” bit, and you repeat the process with as many colours as you wish!” - Sarah Jackman-Read

You will need:

  • Intricate Stamps (I’ve used The Herbarium Herbs Stamps and Utensils Stamps from Craft Consortium 470338/470339)
