Step into Spring with this scenic aperture card featuring beautiful imagery hand drawn by talented artist Katy Hackney. Start with a single layered aperture decorated with a cute stamped bunny and if you’re feeling confident add an extra layer and imagery to turn it into a clever 3D shadow box design.

Aperture Card Steps:

  1. Create a 14.5cm square card blank and cover the front in pale purple cardstock. Die-cut a 9.5cm diameter scalloped circle through the card front then add a contrasting paper inside.
  2. Trim floral paper 13.5cm square and die-cut a 10.5cm diameter circle through the centre. Wrap ribbon across the bottom and attach to the front of the card with foam pads.
  3. Stamp a rabbit on to white card with a black dye ink pad then colour in with marker pens. Tuck behind the circle aperture on the right-hand side then add pearl gems around the scalloped aperture.
  4. Tie a ribbon bow, attach under the rabbit then add a resin flower in the centre. Add a sentiment towards the top-left of the aperture then add die-cut leaves and a resin flower around it.

Shadow Box Card Steps:

  1. Cut two pieces of white card 14.5cm square and decorate one piece the same as the front shown in the steps above. Attach a contrasting paper to the other piece. Trim a contrasting floral paper 14.5cm square then die-cut an 8cm diameter scalloped circle through the centre.
  2. Die-cut leaves and attach towards the top-right of the floral paper scallop with a resin flower. Stamp a mouse with a dye ink pad on white card then colour in with marker pens. Cut out the attach on the left-hand side of the floral paper scallop.
  3. Die-cut an 8cm diameter circle in floral paper, trim it flat along the bottom then add a fussy cut rabbit to the top. Attach to the back panel with foam pads. Trim four pieces of floral paper 4 x 14.5cm.
  4. Score down each piece of floral paper at 1, 2 and 3cm then concertina fold and attach double-sided tape down each side. Attach two pieces down the sides of the base panel then attach the floral scalloped paper on top. Attach the other two pieces down the sides then attach the front panel on top.
