I’ve crafted for years, ever since my Gran first taught me to crochet 47 years ago! Now, I crochet most days; I love the calming, soothing rhythm of it. I really enjoy crocheting blankets; they take time, so each one holds my memories, and stacking them up to display a riot of colours and patterns is great fun!
I fell in love with papercrafting 4 years ago, by total accident - I ordered (by mistake!) a Hobby House card kit. I made the 6 cards, and I was hooked… I was a cardmaker!
Over the years, I’ve also embroidered and done a little sewing, but I’m really drawn to paper. It’s just so malleable… combined with a score board and die cutting machine, there isn’t much we can’t make, so my imagination can run riot! The variety and quality of products on the market these days means we can create projects to a professional standard in our own homes… now that’s exciting!
I love introducing others to the world of crafting, and have been running workshops for children in a deprived area in London. It’s a joy to see them crafting, and being excited and proud of their makes!
I’m loving my crafting journey, and looking forward to many more happy hours spent both in my craft room, and sharing what I love with others.
Construction - so boxes, bags, flip books and journals… anything kinetic or 3D!
My essentials are: Kraft card, black card, watercolour card, grey board, anything that contains glitter, and my colouring stuff - watercolours are perhaps my favourite!
I embroidered my husband a birthday card, and I stitched on the wrong age - I did make him a year younger though!
Enjoy your crafting time. Craft is what we love, and our time is valuable, so enjoy every minute you spend working on your project.
