Teenage Chic Notelet holder

Teenage Chic Notelet holder

“This project is a fun teenage chic style notelet holder, great for journaling, writing to pen pals or just as a place to write some feelings. I’ve used glitter paste from Glitzcraft to add detail to the holder and notelets inside too.” - Tracey Collett

You will need:

  • A4 Card Stock – Black & White – Lynda Chapman’s World of Paper
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Score Board
  • Glitzcraft Black and Red Glitter paste
  • Glitzcraft Spatula and masking tape
  • Glitzcraft Stencils – Lady in glasses & spot background
  • Scissors
  • Double Sided Tape
  • Glue it by Pinflair
  • Mini Magnets
  • Pencil / stamps
  • A6 card blanks and envelopes

Time to Make: 1hr

Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

  1. Origami Bag Origami Bag

We start by taking a piece of Black Card stock a4 in size, and score on the scoreboard at 5 ½ “, rotate the card and score again at 5 ½ “, you will then be left with a spine down the centre (as shown in photo 1) this is the base of the folder, now we need to make the closing panel for the folder section. Cut a piece of black card that measures 1” by 5 ½” we need to create a centre spine the same depth as the folder which is ¾” apply tape to one side which attaches to the back of the folder, the front can be shaped as shown, attach a magnet and hide with the offcut of card as shown in photo 2.

  2. Origami Bag Origami Bag Origami Bag

To decorate the folder we need 3 panels of white card (measuring 13cm x 20cm) The front cover is made using a Glitzcraft stencil and black glitter paste and a stamped sentiment to finish, once they are dry glue the panel on the cover and slip the magnet in place under the white panel so that the folder closes (as seen in photo 3).

    Origami Bag Origami Bag

The remaining white panels are for the inside section, I have used a Glitzcraft background stencil and a mixture of black and red glitter paste on one of the pieces, glue them in place as pictured above.

  3. Origami Bag Origami Bag Origami Bag

To create a holder section for the notelets we need to make a 3d pocket. The measurements are 10.5cm x 12cm.

On the 10.5cm side score at 1.2cm and 2.5cm and on the 12cm side score at 9.5cm and 10.7cm as shown above, remove the sections marked on the photo and glue in place to hold the pocket shape, to finish, shape the pocket as shown in photo 3. This can now be glued in place on the left side of inside cover.

  4. Origami Bag Origami Bag

Now we can look at the notelets to go inside, On the a6 card blanks, repeat the lady stencil on the front of each card allow them to dry and then place them inside the pocket.

  5. Origami Bag

On the spotty background side you can add some extras of your choice, I have used a scrap piece of black card to fashion a holder for a pencil and stencilled the spotty background onto a piece of black card and created a pocket which I have housed some stamps inside ready for the notelets. These notelet holders could be designed in a variety of themes and would make great gifts for all ages too by using any of the brilliant stencil designs by Glitzcraft.
