  • 6x6inch White Blank Base Card
  • Sweet Dixie Lilac Pastel Cardstock
  • Sweet Dixie Lavender Cardstock
  • Sweet Dixie Ann-marie Vaux Seasonal Cluster Summer Rubber Stamps
  • Sentiment Rubber stamp – could be any
  • Patterned Stencil– could be any
  • Large Butterfly Rubber Stamp – could be any
  • Selection of Nesting Label Dies and Swallow Tail dies – could be any
  • Black Permanent Ink Pad
  • Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet
  • A mixture of patterned cardstock – could be any
  • Old Book – this will need to be something that you do not mind ripping and tearing
  • Pearl Embellishments
  • Double sided tape
  • Paper trimmer

Instructions

Cut a layer of patterned card to fit the card base approx 5.8x5.8inches and attach to the card base, then stencil using the Distress Oxide over the corners of the card and the layer. Die cut 5 Swallow tails in cardstock & the old book page as well as a die cut label in the Lilac cardstock, attach all the layers to the card front.

Die cut a smaller label out of a book page and then stencil to the bottom of the label with the Distress Oxide and then stamp a large butterfly over the top of the stencil in black ink for contrast. Add the layer to the card front.

Die cut 2 nesting labels from the Patterned cardstock & the Lavender cardstock then stencil over the top of the plain cardstock, then stamp your sentiment over the top in black ink. Attach both of the labels over the previous layer and add Pearls to the Swallow tails to finish the card.

Tips

1: When using ink to blend, use a piece of dry kitchen roll over the main design to help stop smudges.
2: Mix different patterns with the same colour tones to create unusual combinations
3: Try Embossing patterned paper and inking the embossed areas, to create texture on your creations.
4: Quote: Be creative with patterns, inks and embossing to create different looks, incorporate old book pages for layering to projects for a unique look.
