“Use a rectangular die for a quick way to make a fancy fold slider card with very little measuring required.” Shabneez Khan-Muztar
Cut a sheet of yellow card to 5” x 7” and centrally place a rectangle die on top. The die I used is 4” x 5 ½ “. Secure the die with a little washi tape so it won’t move when passing it through the die cutting machine.
Pass the card and die through your die cutting machine but be careful that you don’t cover one edge of the die and the card with your plates to ensure it doesn’t cut one side.
With this technique the die cuts out 3 sides of your rectangle. Use your scoreboard and scoring tool to score along the line that wasn’t cut so it can make a valley fold and score another line at 3” (half way of your rectangle) and make a mountain fold.
Cut a sheet of yellow card to 2” x 7 ½ “ and score at ½ “ on one side to form a tab.
Turn the card base upside down and stick the slim piece of card with the tab on the bottom.
Decorate the front of your card by sticking a piece of printed card from the pack across the front and cut out the butterfly topper, sentiment and butterfly and adhere as shown.
Create your base by covering a sheet of 5” x 7” white card with one of the papers from the pack and a sentiment. Both these will show when the slider is pulled.
Put glue around the edges of the card base but do not put any along or under the slider mechanism. Adhere on top of the printed base.
Finally stamp the word ‘PULL’ on the pull mechanism and round the corners.
